When the proposal to participate in the exhibition on the topic of "Groups in Israeli Art" was raised, the question arose: Is the Benjamin Gallery truly a group? The gallery's members and associates had different answers to this question. Some expected the gallery, which is run cooperatively, to give them an independent platform; some worked as independent artists but enjoyed the collaborations; and some came to the gallery specifically for the opportunity to be part of a group.
The conversation also sparked a contemporary connection for us - questions of division and unity in Israeli life, which have become particularly relevant in the past year. From these thoughts, we created "Pixel", a work in which, within a fixed grid, each participant was given artistic freedom to act within the boundary or break it, to collaborate or to diverge and be different. At the end of the process, the audience and viewers will be able to decide in what ways we influence each other, what is the uniqueness of each of us and what is our common strength.
