I explore the concept of the group and the place of the individual within it, as someone who operates within an expanding network of overlapping and intersecting circles. These circles define me, provide a sense of belonging, and drive me to act—while constantly questioning the place of the whole self and the storms over nothing. I find myself drawn to a reflection by Anita Diamant in her book The Red Tent: "Like all sisters who live together and share a husband, my mother and aunts wove a sticky web of loyalties and resentments."
My works focus on the body and movement: mud games, human pyramids, spiritual spins, clusters in motion… I am captivated by the forms that emerge in the spaces and encounters between bodies, and the story that unfolds over the timeline.
I create from a playful energy, where content, visuality, and reflections on the audience's role are intertwined. My toolbox continually expands and mixes. Through broad body movements, bold brushstrokes, and vibrant colors, I invent new rules each time and allow effects of improvisation and chance. I release and draw back in… This is my war game.
