About a year has passed since the events of October 23, and the situation has not yet returned to normal, and perhaps it will not. Not all of us have lost loved ones, homes or property. But we all share in the grief for those who will not return. We have all been taken away from a sense of control over our lives, security in the future and familiar routine. Everyone deals with these feelings differently, but we all deal with them. Some are in denial, some have sobered up, some have become depressed and some have become reluctant activists. The exhibition marks a moment in our existence as a society. As of today, none of us have any understanding of what the future holds for us, whether we will have time to pick up the pieces and begin the process of healing, or whether we will be forced, as humans have proven many times in history, to adapt to a different way of life than we knew in the past, in which external forces increasingly dictate our routines.
