Halleli Fried’s practice is rooted in close observation of plant life and the urban environment, exploring the connections between natural processes and human perception and experience. Working through manual, transformative processes, she traces the ways in which nature and time leave their mark on both materials and consciousness.
The imagery that emerges in her work, together with the materials from which it is made, is marked by a profound delicacy that invites careful attention and gives presence to what appears fragile, minute, and fleeting. Her works encourage sustained looking and reflect on memory, presence, and the relationships between human beings, their environment, and themselves.
