From the darkness, the images flicker, clinging to the paper for a moment before threatening to disappear into the surrounding void. Scenes of childhood and adulthood—nightmares, dreams, or perhaps memories—bear witness to a trauma that weighs upon the body.

Alongside the paintings, Echtenberg presents her first video work. In the piece, she dances to the sound of unheard alternative rock music.
