Today’s world is united by its divisions, alienation, and insularity. Discourse has become binary, a dichotomous discussion of “like/dislike.” Everywhere, opposing sides invalidate each other.
The only common denominator among these conflicts is the immense tension between factions—a tension rooted as much in emotion as in concrete facts—making it nearly impossible to define clear boundaries. Yet, despite the difficulty of objectively describing the opposing sides, for those involved in these conflicts, the boundary between the two groups is sharply drawn.
We believe there is a severe lack of open, egalitarian, and non-partisan spaces where dialogue between different groups can take place. This absence is one of the main factors contributing to the worsening of dichotomous discourse.
For this reason, Binyamin Gallery is launching a project to create a space for discussion. As part of this initiative, a shared reflection will be presented with various cultural figures from different sectors of Israeli society.
