The work in this exhibition seek to present an different aesthetic view of age, in which the women portrayed are active, vital and powerful. Sarit challenges conventions of beauty and age by offering an alternative feminine model, relaxed and whole with itself.

Through her work Achtenberg investigates anonymous women who wish to present themselves to the viewer ”here and now”. Their wrinkles and aging bodies demand their place in society. Each woman portrayed is not identified by name. The works do not deal with old age biographically or present it as a collection of weaknesses or as an aesthetic disorder. This is a new, different, natural and aesthetic image of femininity.
