ABOUT

אודות

In the game "Pick Pack" two participants take part. One carries the other on their back. Unlike many children's games, this game has no defined rules, no winners or losers—only the need for two players and, at times, considerable endurance.

The exhibition views the game through the prism of the complex power dynamics it embodies and the questions that arise from them. It uses the motif of carrying the sack as a metaphor to examine the power relations and interactions between people and their personal burdens. What are the components of such a burden, this symbolic weight? What happens when one becomes a kind of sack of flour for the other? Carrying this metaphorical burden sometimes happens by choice and sometimes by necessity. It is relevant both to childhood and to later stages of life, and it can last an entire lifetime.

The artists in the exhibition do not reject or deny their "sacks." They present situations charged with political, social, familial, or romantic tensions. The exhibition addresses the various aspects of this phenomenon, its physical and emotional impacts on all involved, and also offers possible ways of coping.
