ABOUT

אודות

There is a belief that God “examines the heart and kidneys.” In the exhibition Partial Vision, much like the security screening machines commonly found in airports today, the artists examine the hearts of viewers through a scanning machine that adapts religious rituals. This machine, composed of microcontrollers, sensors, and a dedicated algorithm, generates a unique output for each scanned individual. The viewer’s movement and actions within the space serve as raw material that is processed, influencing and altering the artwork in real time. At the Western Wall, it is customary to leave a note for God between the stones; in the gallery space, the opposite action takes place.

The exhibition explores the relationship between technology, art, and religion, operating at the intersection between the need for a higher spiritual entity and today’s technological advancements. It questions the place of God in our augmented reality and whether the internet has become the new deity.

The exhibition is the result of an ongoing collaboration between artists Hadas Amster and Hadas Duchan.
