ABOUT
אודות
The Esperanto language failed to take root in people’s hearts—a language that was meant to offer a remedy to the story of the Tower of Babel and the multitude of languages that emerged. The artists participating in the exhibition each present, in their own way, languages that deal with unity, reconciliation, and compromise.
Deliberately, the artists did not touch on political, national, or cultural aspects that incite division and hostility among nations. The electronic revolution we are experiencing today offers new, all-encompassing languages, and the most surprising of them all is the language of emojis—a rapidly evolving language with an ever-growing set of symbols. In many ways, it can be seen as the successful heir to the failed Esperanto language.
