The Gvul (Border) Gallery from Kibbutz Hanita, evacuated during these turbulent days, is hosted by Binyamin Gallery with the exhibition "Deceptive Silence." The connection between the artists Mor Rimmer, a creator in engraving and painting, and Tal Gaash, a sound artist, wants to create a dialogue of senses in space. The artists, together with curator Rita Kats, seek to examine the possibilities of representing the empty settlement through still images and changing sound.
"Heartbeat Check for an Evacuated Kibbutz," Tal Gaash's work, presents the dining room cart, emptied, in the center of the space. From within it emerge various rhythms that were recorded throughout the kibbutz and processed by the artist. The sounds are present in the gallery space, but visitors can also choose to rest from them and choose quietly by wearing noise-blocking headphones. Alongside them are small-format black-and-white etchings by Reimer and a large painting that show pieces of an unreal, emptied kibbutz landscape, resembling fragments of a dream, and are displayed on the walls in a rhythm that maintains a dialogue with the sound.
