ABOUT
אודות
The exhibition brings together five artists for whom the human body is a central and recurring motif.
The physical human body—subjected to trials and portrayed in states of distress—is exposed as a vulnerable vessel across the media of sculpture, drawing, photography, painting, video, and installation. The works unfold a broad spectrum of bodily appearances: from formal artistic practices to representations of functional uses, all the way to critical social discourse.
The surface of the human body is consistently caught in a state of tension—between exterior and interior, between the visible and the unseen physiological systems within. The artworks presented in the exhibition echo the ever-present gap between the outside and the inside, between harmony and dissonance, between aesthetics and anti-aesthetics.
These internal systems are explored as analogies for the psyche—personal mental states refracted through visceral, corporeal imagery that raise universal and existential questions.
