ABOUT
אודות
The exhibition "Anchoring" deals with the tension between the temporality of things and our ability to pause them, to let them anchor in our present. The exhibition features a video work projected on a three-dimensional screen system that fills the gallery space.
The work is based on images taken from films and travel photographs taken by each of the artists individually. Photographed memories were extracted associatively and connected into imaginary sequences. Upon entering the gallery, the visitor encounters an installation that serves as a disjointed, multi-layered screen for the video work. The images are projected onto nets that float in the gallery space and capture the images but also allow them to ripple through them, grow, and anchor on the next layer, over and over again to the edge of the gallery. Like the images, the sound that accompanies the work is also built up in layers upon layers. The anchoring is multiplied in space and time. The visitor is invited to enter the installation, walk around it, and anchor within it from time to time.
