"Like Electricity" is the first joint exhibition by artists Yishai Hojesta and Eyal Agivayev. The exhibition features works from the past year: a series of paintings by Hojesta and sculptures and photographs by Agivayev. Their works address a phenomenon that sometimes occurs in the familiar and planned urban space: places of random disorder that seem to be organized according to a new logic. Objects and materials that seem to have no connection with each other are arranged in an aesthetic, almost mystical way. The discovery of these places in space creates a sense of strangeness with an inhuman dimension. For Hojesta and Agivayev, these moments constitute a comfort, a deviation from the familiar reality and a glimpse into another one, a kind of hint at the existence of something great, foreign and hidden. Their raw materials are waste and leftovers, with which they formulate their private moments of discovery, each their own.
Yishai Hogesta (b. 1990 Tel Aviv) lives and works in Tel Aviv. Studied cinema and art at the Menasher College of Art, (2018) one of the founders of the "Space in the Studio" gallery. Participated in several artist residencies such as at Tonst, Germany, 2018, Parasite, Jerusalem, 2019. Has exhibited in group and solo exhibitions, the latest of which is "Paritet" at the Maya Gallery (2021)
Eyal Agivayev (b. 1989, Acre) lives and works in Tel Aviv. Member of "Indie Cooperative Photography Gallery". Graduated with honors from the Photography Department of the "Menshar Art School" (2016), studied archival and information studies at Tel Aviv University (2022), has presented solo exhibitions at the "Menshar Art" Gallery, "Third Floor from the Left", Indie Gallery and "Space in the Studio", has exhibited in group exhibitions, his works have been published in magazines in Israel and abroad
