חזונה של גלריה בנימין הוא להוות גורם משפיע בזירת האמנות העכשווית, כבימה לשיח מאתגר בין חברי הגלריה, אמנים, אוצרים, אנשי תיאוריה ומקצועות משיקים וקהל שוחרי האמנות.
גלריה בנימין הצטרפה לסצנת האמנות העכשווית בדרום תל אביב בשנת 2011 במטרה להרחיב ולהעמיק את השיח באמצעות תערוכות נושא עם אוצרים מתחלפים שבהן יציגו אמנים אורחים ואמני הגלריה. במהלך שנות קיומה רכשה הגלריה מוניטין מצוין וקהל שוחרי אמנות נאמן.
הגלריה השיתופית, שהיא עמותה רשומה, מנוהלת על ידי חבריה. בנוסף לפעילותם העצמאית במדיומים שונים חברי הגלריה מספקים רשת ביטחון וליווי הנדרשים להפקה מוצלחת של התערוכות ולחשיפתם לאוצרים, מבקרי אמנות ומובילי דעה אחרים בשדה האמנות.
את התערוכות מלווים אירועים רב תחומיים שפועלים יחדיו להגשמת החזון של הקמת בית עצמאי ובלתי תלוי לתרבות ואמנות ללא שיקולים כלכליים.
לקראת עונת התערוכות 2020, גלריה בנימין מזמינה אוצרים, אמנים וקבוצות לקחת חלק במהלכי הגלריה ולהגיש הצעות מגובשות לתערוכות קבוצתיות.הגלריה תיתן עדיפות להצעות של אוצרים שיעסקו בשאלות עכשוויות מתחומי האמנות והתרבות, יבחנו נושאים אקטואליים, ויאתגרו את אופני התצוגה. בנוסף, הגלריה תעודד הצעות לאירועי אמנות משיקים שיערכו במהלך התערוכה המוצעת.
הנחיות להגשת הצעות לתערוכה :
לפני שהצעה תאושר סופית, עליה לכלול אוצר שיהיה איש הקשר עם צוות הליווי של הגלריה, יהיה אחראי על תהליך הקמת התערוכה, ולא יהיה בין האמנים המציגים.
על ההצעה להכיל קובץ פי די אף השוקל עד 10 מ״ב ובו:
- תזה אוצרותית מנומקת רלוונטית
- הצעה לתערוכה עם הדימויים המוצעים לתערוכה כולל התייחסות לחלל הגלריה והצבה מוצעת (מצורף תרשים של חלל הגלריה).
- הצהרות אמן, קורות חיים ועשרה דימויים מייצגים לכל אמן
- קורות חיים של האוצר, נושאי העניין שלו ותיעוד מתערוכות קודמות
- לתשומת לבכם, הגלריה אינה מבטחת את העבודות המוצגות ואינה משתתפת בעלויות ההפקה והשילוח
- מועדי הגשה והשתתפות בתערוכה

תשובות יינתנו תוך חודש מתאריך זה. כל הצעה תיבחן ע"י ועדה מתוך חברי הגלריה ותישפט על בסיס איכותה והתאמתה לנושא ולמטרות הגלריה. לאחר מכן תשלח תשובה במייל.

Call for Submissions 2020 – Binyamin Gallery, Tel Aviv
Binyamin Gallery entered the contemporary art scene in Tel-Aviv in 2011, with the goal of expanding the discourse through theme exhibitions arranged by changing curators that exhibit both guest and gallery artists. Over the years, the gallery gained an exceptional reputation with many loyal followers that support its vision of establishing an independent, non-financially driven, home for culture and art. The gallery is a not-for-profit organization owned and managed by its member artists that on top of their individual careers provide the required support to ensure successful exhibitions with any complementary multi-disciplinary events.
For the 2020 exhibition season, Binyamin Gallery is inviting Curators, Artists and teams to take part in its ongoing development and submit well thought-out proposals for group exhibitions.
The Gallery will give preference to Curator-driven exhibitions that take a critical look at the art field, examine contemporary issues and challenge the modes of display. Further, the gallery encourages proposals for related events that will take place during the proposed exhibition.
Proposal Guidelines:
- While inviting a broad range of submitters, the proposal requires a curator that will be the primary contact person with the gallery team, to be responsible for setting up the exhibition (including final artists list, text, layout etc.) and will not be one of the exhibiting artists.
- The submission must be a PDF document under 10MB in size and will include:
- A relevant and reasoned curatorial theses
- A proposal for an exhibition with the suggested images, including a reference to the gallery space (see the attached diagram)
- Artists’ statements, short CV’s and 10 representative images for each artist
- Curator’s CV including interest areas and examples of prior work
- Please note: The gallery does not insure the artworks, and all shipment, equipment, and other logistics and costs are the sole responsibility of the submitter.
Submission and dates
The proposal must be sent to [email protected] the title “Exhibition Proposal, 2020”.
Next deadline for entries for the 2020 season is 1st of December 2019. Answers will be given within a month, after review by the gallery team members based on the quality of submission and its relevance to the gallery’s agenda. Answers will be sent by mail.
